Fire in Saint-Sauveur

A fire caused significant damage to a building in the Saint-Sauveur neighborhood on Wednesday night.
A resident of 522 rue des Oblats called the emergency services at 21:47, mentioning that the fire was “caught in the attic” of the apartment, reports firefighter Jean-François Daigle.
A 4th alarm was quickly needed due to the building configuration and the dangers of spreading to adjacent buildings. At the height of the blaze, 70 sappers took part in the fight.
The destructive element was under control two hours later. Fortunately, no one got hurt. However, the damage caused by fire and water amounts to more than $ 250,000.
Investigators from the fire department are on Thursday to determine the cause of the incident.
