Fox Searchlight has released this Tuesday on YouTube, a first look of the biopic devoted to the writer J. R. R. Tolkien who wrote The Hobbit and the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings, books that have sold millions of copies around the world.
Directed by filmmaker of finland Dome Karukoski (Very Cold Trip), the feature-length film tells the story of the life of the british writer in his younger years before he became famous. It will be played by Nicholas Hoult.
Lily Collins will play Edith Bratt, the great love of Tolkien, who would become his wife later on. It is the origin of the creation of the character of Arwen, the princess elf in the saga of the Lord of the Rings.
The short teaser revealed on Tuesday sets the stage for the young Tolkien, an orphan, fascinated by imaginary creatures dancing on the walls of his room.
