For the first half of 2018 victims of forced labor were 112 Ukrainians. Most people by deception into Russia, Poland, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. It is reported by TSN.
For all time of Ukrainian independence 230 thousand citizens became victims of trafficking. Half of them victims of labour exploitation. Others were forced into sexual slavery, begging and organ trade, according to the publication.
“Human trafficking is a global criminal business. It is so lucrative that covers almost the entire world. Therefore, Ukraine is both a destination country and a transit country and country of origin for human trafficking,” says Irina Boyko, coordinator for combating human trafficking.
As reported, on July 30 the world celebrates the day against human trafficking. According to the International labour organization, 21 million people worldwide were victims of forced labour.
