Norway is following the situation closely in the Baltic sea and the actions of Russia in the region. This was stated by the foreign Minister Ine in a Statement during a joint briefing with Ukrainian foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin in Kiev, transfers “112 Ukraine”.
“We are very closely monitoring the situation on a monthly basis and more often. We support the EU sanctions, restrictive measures of the EU and our position will remain such in the future. Norway is in favour of upholding international law, and it is a violation of international law. As we view these situations not only in the context of Ukraine, and more broadly, in the context of the region, part of which is Ukraine”, – said the Minister.
She also noted that Russia’s military presence in the region is growing with time.
“As we see the situation in the region shows that Russia’s military presence there increases become larger and more complex military exercises there, we see a large number of military aircraft that appear there. Therefore, we are closely monitoring the situation,” – said in a Statement.
Earlier, foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the Minister Søreide plans to visit the demarcation line in the Donbas.
