France and Germany cannot be the guarantors of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, as in 2014. Such opinion on air of “112 Ukraine” was expressed by political expert Elena Dyachenko, commenting on the statement by German Chancellor Angela Merkel that in the Minsk process, there is no progress.
“France and Germany cannot be the guarantors of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, as in 2014 the entire EU could not be a guarantor of a smooth transition is not elected in an unconstitutional transition of power,” she said.
She also noted that only direct negotiations with Russia and unrecognized republics can lead to de-escalation of the conflict.
“All agree, and recently the President of Belarus confirmed that only direct talks between Ukraine and Russia, Ukraine and the unrecognized republics, on the level at which you can negotiate, they will lead to de-escalation and cessation of conflict,” she added.
Recall, German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a joint press conference with Petro Poroshenko said that progress in the Minsk process is not, however, alternative format yet.
