Released from a Russian prison Crimean activist Alexander Kostenko arrived in Kiev. About it reports “UKRINFORM”.
He came to his house, talked to reporters and went to the apartment accompanied by the mother and the Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova.
Later Lyudmila Denisova, the TV channel “112 Ukraine” told about the state Kostenko.
“He was very tired. Now he’s talking with his mother, who waited here for him for so many years. They need to give them time to talk, to decided when he will go to the hospital to do all the necessary tests. Maybe he will need surgery on his arm, which was broken. Then he needs rehabilitation, I think, and mom also need such help,” she said.
It is known that Ukrainians granted temporary shelter. To a journalist’s question, at whose expense the apartment, Denisov replied:
“This agreement signed by such public organization as an “Independent professional group”. So they pay these six months (residence – ed.)”.
In addition, Denisova added that she knows nothing about the criminal proceedings of 2014 against Kostenko.
“If law enforcement officers have some claim to Sasha Kostenko, they will ask these questions and I think that will get all the answers you need”, she concluded.
As reported, on August 3, the Ukrainian political prisoner from the Crimea Alexander Kostenko was released from Russian penal colony № 5 in the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk, Kirov region. He was accused of the fact that Kostenko allegedly during the Euromaidan protests in Kiev in February 2014 caused the injuries to the employee of the Crimean special forces “Berkut”. Also activist accused of illegal possession of weapons.
On the morning of 6 August, the first Vice-speaker of the Parliament, the representative of Ukraine at the talks in Minsk Irina Gerashchenko reported that Alexander Kostenko, together with Ukrainian diplomats crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border, and in the evening will be in Kiev.
Later, the Ombudsman said that Kostenko has a broken arm and it is difficult to say.
