Environment Canada launched, on Thursday morning, a warning of freezing rain for many regions of Quebec. The alerts have, however, been exercised in the morning for Montreal and Sherbrooke, where the precipitation changed to rain.
The rain is expected to gain in intensity Friday night before changing to snow Saturday, for most of the regions.
The schools are closed?
The freezing rain persisted Thursday in several areas of the province, prompting some schools to close their doors for the day.
This is the case of schools the school Board of Samaras, in Lanaudière, those of the Commission scolaire des Laurentides and the Academy Laurentian.
Schools Larch, Mary-Anne, Esther-Blondin, Champagneur, and Antoine-Manseau, in Lanaudière, are also closed, as are some of the schools of the Commission scolaire de la Côte-du-Sud, in Chaudière-Appalaches.
Other details will follow.
