Val di Fiemme, Italy — Alex Harvey has won on Sunday a second bronze medal on in the prosecution of 9 kilometers, which accounted for the last of the seven stages of the Tour de ski, an event recorded in the ranking of the world Cup cross-country skiing.
Harvey, of St-Ferréol-les-Neiges, completed the race in 30 minutes, and 22.7 seconds, which allowed him to earn a rank in the cumulative ranking of the Tour de ski and the finish on the third step of the podium.
The pursuit of 9 km was won by Switzerland’s Dario Cologna in 28 : 52,1, 1:26,5 less than the Norwegian Martin Johnsrud Sundby. Harvey has followed in less than four seconds behind.
Cologna has won the Tour de ski in under a total time of 2:49 ; 29,8, in front of Sundby and Harvey. The Kazakh Alexey Poltoranin, who served as the third step before the last stage in the challenging Alpe Cermis, has led to the foot of the podium.
For the ladies, norway’s Heidi Weng has signed a second victory in as many days by completing the continuation of 9 km in 32 : 13,3. Her compatriot Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg was awarded the silver medal and the American Jessica Diggins, the bronze.
In the cumulative ranking, Weng was awarded the title of the Tour de ski in 2:20 ; 56,5, before Oestberg and Diggins, in order.
No Canadian has participated in the Tour de ski.
Cross-country skiers will be the next weekend in Dresden, Germany, to take part in the next stop of the circuit of the world Cup cross-country skiing.
