President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko dismissed Sergei Semochko from the post of chief of the security Service of Ukraine in Kiev and Kiev region, and has appointed ex-Prosecutor Oleg Valenduc. This is stated in the decree of the President.
Semochko will be the first Deputy Chairman of the foreign intelligence Service of Ukraine. He headed the SBU in Kiev and Kiev region in may 2018.
During the revolution of dignity, Valenduc held the position of Deputy chief of head Department of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, and therefore fall under lustration, under part 2 of article 3 of the law of Ukraine “About the cleansing power”.
