In annexed Crimea there is not one school with the Ukrainian language of training. This broadcast of “Radio Crimea.Realities” said a member of the Ukrainian cultural center in the Crimea Leonid Kuzmin.
“Of the 7 Ukrainian schools, which were before the time of the occupation of Crimea, there is not one. All schools teach the Russian or mixed language of instruction, where there are classes with the Ukrainian language of training. But most of the classes with Russian language of instruction”, – Kuzmin noted.
At the same time a member of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariev added that on the Peninsula of the 16 schools with the Crimean Tatar language of education were seven.
“According to official data, the so-called Ministry of education, science and youth of Crimea in 2017/2018 years there are 7 municipal educational establishments with Crimean Tatar language of instruction, 4 – with Russian and Crimean Tatar languages of instruction and five educational institutions that changed the school status of the Crimean Tatar language of instruction in secondary schools. That is, without defining the language of instruction,” said Bariev.
Russian Crimean authorities have minimized the number of hours of the Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian languages in secondary schools. That authorities deprived the Crimean Tatars of the opportunity to learn their native language in schools, said representatives of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
