In Istanbul, the Armenian Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarch Kirill, reports the Synodal information Department of the UOC.

According to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, the meeting was “very good atmosphere”, it was possible to discuss “all the problems that are on the agenda.”

“Good meeting, very good was the atmosphere. We discussed all the problems that are on today’s agenda. I hope and will continue to work together to make the world a better place,” said Patriarch Kirill.

Also, according to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, in the two years that have passed since the last meeting, “a lot has happened in the lives of our Churches, and the whole situation in the world really has changed.”

Referring to the pan-Orthodox dialogue, the Patriarch said: “Constantly having problems, which are challenges to the Churches with a pastoral point of view. The world is changing very fast, and no one Church can make decisions that would contravene the position of the other Orthodox Church.”

However, the details of the conversation with the Patriarch, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church did not disclose.

“Without the consent of His Holiness would not want to tell you, although nothing secret was not anything that would produce an explosion in consciousness. The conversation was very correct — the conversation of the heads of the two Churches, conscious of the responsibility for the condition of the Ecumenical Orthodoxy and for the state of souls in those places and in those countries which are in the scope of our responsibility,” – said the Patriarch.

Recall, as reported by specialized media, the patriarchs had to discuss the issue of granting autocephaly to the Ukrainian Church.

According to reports, the talks lasted two hours and was private, with the participation of the Metropolitan of France Emmanuel and Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
