In Kharkiv citizen of Nigeria, who arrived in Ukraine on personal business, found a case of malaria. This was reported in the press service of the Kharkiv regional laboratory center of the Ministry of health.
“At carrying out of epidemiological investigation it is established that the patient 01.08.2018 there were complaints of weakness, dry mouth, increased body temperature to 39C, pain in the stomach,” – said in the message.
It is noted that on August 4, the victim was hospitalized in regional clinical infectious hospital with the diagnosis “malaria”.
It is reported that from the beginning of 2018, in the Kharkiv region recorded 6 cases of malaria, including two residents of Kharkiv region, who were in countries on the African continent.
Recall that malaria is an infectious disease, the causative agent of which is Plasmodium malaria, which are transmitted from a sick person through the bites of mosquitoes. The disease is much common in countries with tropical climates, occurs with bouts of chills, fever and disorders of various organs and systems of the body. According to the world health organization, annually more than 200 million cases of malaria, 90% of which occur in the countries of the African continent.
