In Kharkiv a group of swindlers defrauded more than 150 people and sold via the Internet non-existent children’s furniture for the sum over 600 thousand hryvnias. About it reports a press-service of the National police.
Found that the scammers had created a group in the social network Instagram, which are widely advertised non-existent goods, creating positive customer reviews and was invited to see the finished product in the furniture stores Kharkov.
Customers were transferred as a payment to the Bank card funds in the amount of 50% of the cost of furniture for two months waiting for the order.
End store administrator delayed the time of treatment of defrauded citizens to law enforcement agencies, explaining the delay in manufacturer production problems, promised to deliver the bed in a week, two, month.
The person changed mobile phone numbers and residential address.
The organizer of the group was 31-year-old girl from the town. She is reported about suspicion in Commission of crime under part 3 article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
The court chose the measure of restraint in form of house arrest. The sanction of article prescribes punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to 8 years.
Steps are also being taken to prosecute other members of the group and establishment of all episodes of their criminal activity.
