In the Latvian army received multifunctional radioradara TPS-77 MRR for observation of airspace. This was reported by a publication of the Ministry of defence Sargs.lv. Armed forces of Latvia have conducted pilot test.
Defense Minister Raimonds Bergmanis said that arrived in the Latvian army multifunctional radioradara strengthen monitoring of airspace.
“Buying radioradar will make a great contribution to strengthening the combat readiness and modernization of the National armed forces, allowing to adequately react to modern threats facing the NATO countries. The observation of low flying and identify goals — is a vital part of protection of air space of Latvia. Modern technologies allow to connect the multi-function radar with radar systems in the world”, — the press service quoted defense Minister Raimonds Bergmanis.
Latvia will purchase three radioradara TPS-77 MRR, manufactured by military-industrial Corporation Lockheed Martin, the corresponding agreement was signed in October of 2015.
