In the Rivne region, the Deputy of regional Council, driving a car in a condition of alcoholic intoxication, hit and killed an elderly cyclist. About the incident, reports the press service of the local police, but without specifying the name and position of the driver.

According to the report, the accident occurred late last night on the road “Horodyshche – Rivne – Starokostiantyniv” near the village of Alexandria.

Previously, the investigators found that the driver of the car Audi Q7 on a foreign registration, 35-year-old resident of the village of Velyke verbche Sarny district, moving in the direction Exactly, made arrival on the bicyclist.

“From his injuries and 58-year-old resident of the village of Alexandria died on the spot”, – stated in the message.

For violation of traffic rules, entailed death of the victim, began pre-judicial investigation as regards 2 articles 286 of the Criminal code of Ukraine, in which investigators establish all the circumstances of the accident.

As reported on air of TV channel “112 Ukraine” the inspector of Department of communications of GU-Ukraine, Rivne region Olga Angelova is a violation of the originator threatens till 8 years of imprisonment.

“His (the driver of Audi – ed.) were not detained. He gave explanations to the investigator and yet let him go,” she added, without specifying the name and position of the driver.
