In Simferopol, unknown persons painted graffiti with political prisoners Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko. The illustration appeared on 6 August under the mural with a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the inscription “Crimea is our common heritage”. The graffiti was posted on the page Save Oleg Sentsov in Facebook.
The building was covered by graffiti, located on the street of the Rose Luxembourg, near the post office. Figure Sentsov and Kolchenko is depicted behind bars, even as they stood during the court hearings. And next there’s the inscription “be Quiet, or you’ll get punished,” #freesencov and #freekolchenko. On the same day, graffiti and inscriptions were painted over.
Recall that Sentsov and Kolchenko was detained by Russian law enforcement in Crimea in may 2014. In August 2015 the North Caucasus district military court in Rostov-on-don sentenced. to 20 years and Kolchenko – to 10 years in prison. They are accused of terrorist activities.
On may 14 of this year, Oleg Sentsov was on a hunger strike to demand the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners who are imprisoned in Russian jails. Today, August 7, continues the 86th day of his hunger strike.
31 may a hunger strike with the same demands and announced Kolchenko. However, for health reasons he began to eat on 7 June.
As previously reported, the festival “Bandershtat” held a flashmob in support of Ukrainians who are in Russian prisons. The participants put the word FREE with the help of flashlights.
