The staff of the Transcarpathian customs office of the SFS detained at the customs post “Luzhanka” of the smuggler, who tried to carry across the border 1530 packs of cigarettes. This reports the press service of the SFS in Transcarpathian region.
As reported, a Ukrainian citizen, the driver of the Volkswagen Transporter 2008 release was going to Italy on personal business. A form of customs control, the driver chose the “green corridor” and at oral answer denied the presence of his goods to be declared, and stated that it does not move any goods, concealed from customs control.
“Based on the results of the analysis and the risk assessment of vehicle customs officers withdrew from the General stream for the in-depth inspection. According to the results, the customs officers found hidden from customs control cigarettes – 330 packs of red Marlboro 1200 packs of Marlboro Gold. All tobacco products of Ukrainian origin and contain tax stamps. The cigarettes were hidden in specially made stash – double bottom”, – reported the representatives of the SFS.
The total value of detected cigarettes amounted to 59 thousand. The cost of the car is, according to preliminary estimates, more than 243 thousand.
Thus, the citizen of Ukraine undertook actions aimed at movement of goods across the customs border of Ukraine with concealment from customs control. These actions provided by part 1 of article 483 of the Customs code of Ukraine and is punishable by a fine in the amount of 100% of the cost of goods and confiscation of the vehicle used to move them.
