There are a dozen of days, the new fell : the group Amazon was in negotiations with Warner and the heirs of J. R. R. Tolkien to acquire the rights to the Lord of the Rings in order to adapt to tv series. And it was finally not a rumor.

The announcement of a possible tv series adapted from the Lord of the Rings for the network Amazon Prime is making a lot of noise there are not even two weeks and has not had a positive response among the fans of Middle-Earth. If some concede curious to see what it could give, others would not block this view, still too attached to Peter Jackson’s movies. In our case, the receipt of such news is a bit different since, aware that we will not have anyway no choice, we prefer to play the card of the curiosity and wait to see what the project has in the stomach. It will be soon enough to complain about it when we’ll know more.

That said, the announcement was only a rumor, although Sean Astin has already expressed about it in its capacity as the incarnation movie of good old Sam. And so we were more than eager to know what these negotiations were about to give. Did you know that they go very well since the group Amazon has just announced himself as the deal was concluded and that he had purchased the rights to the books. And he sees rather big, since the contract that was just signed is for a project extending over several seasons, with the possibility of creating several spin-offs.

But, because there’s always one, the series will not be an adaptation literal of the Lord of the Rings. In fact, the first season will not be The Community as it should be conducted in a time prior to these events, which will thus make a prequel of the saga. And this surprises us a lot because of the prequels, it already exists, Peter Jackson has done three and that at no time Amazon does not mention The Hobbit as track potential for the series. We must therefore expect a storyline totally original, based on the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien, that does not say for the moment if it will feature new characters or those that we already know. But it certainly enhances this desire for the network to produce his own Game of Thrones.
