IZI Ukrainian film received a prize at the Venice film festival

Украинский фильм IZI получил приз на Венецианском кинофестивале

Ukrainian-Italian film “IZI” received the award for Opera Prima program Kineo Diamanti al Cinema 75th Venice film festival and was named best debut film of 2017. Tape is also included in the five finalists of the most prestigious Italian film award David di Donatello in the categories “Best debutant Director” and “Best actor”. In Ukraine the film was nominated in the category “people’s Choice” movie awards “Golden Dzyga”.

Award Kinéo Movie Diamond Award is the official award of the Venice film festival, for films that combine artistic quality and success in international markets. This year Kinéo celebrates its 16th anniversary at the Venice film festival. The award was established by the Ministry of culture of Italy, together with CSC (Experimental film centre) Award, SNCCI (national Union of film critics) and Best Movie magazine.

Recall that the feature film “ІZI” is the first official co-production of Ukraine with Italy. The tape was created with the support of the state of Ukraine, the Ministry of culture and the audiovisual Fund of Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy). Production was companies Fresh Production Group (Ukraine), Bartlebyfilm and Pilgrim Film (Italy).

The film starred Italian and Ukrainian actors Nicola Nocella, Barbara Bush, Ostap Stupka, Veronika Shostak, Orest Garda.

In August 2017, the tape took part in the competitive program of the 70th International film festival in Locarno-2017 (Switzerland). At the end of September 2017 tape “Izi” also took part in the main competition, the biggest festival of Italian cinema outside of Italy — the 35th Annecy Cinema Italien — 2017 (France), where she won the “jury Grand Prix”. In General, the film received 27 awards and participated in more than 90 festivals in more than 25 countries.

Tape was also represented at the film Festival in Ostend-2017 (Belgium) and on the 30th “of the Helsinki international film festival “Love and anarchy-2017” (Finland), and was also invited to participate in more than 50 other film festivals.

The rating of influential Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the film entered the TOP-10 best paintings 2017, the year in Italy.
