The Government of Japan will provide $ 300 thousand for urgent humanitarian assistance free.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan on Friday, half Assistance will be provided through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the rest – through the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
As explained in the Japanese Foreign Ministry, assistance is necessary because of the “sharp deterioration in the humanitarian situation and the increasing number of refugees from the Eastern Ukraine,” which caused “increased activity separatists in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions that are fighting with the Ukrainian government.”
In June, Japan has provided Ukraine on the needs of refugees and displaced persons $ 270 thousand.
