Jeep Cherokee 2019 will receive a 2.0-liter hybrid engine from the new Wrangler

American developers are experiencing quite difficult times, because new environmental requirements are forced to implement a more compact and “clean” engines, which should not disappoint the customers. According to the latest data, the new Jeep Cherokee 2019 model year will receive a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, which can also be presented in a hybrid format.

 

On the pages of American automotive publication the Truth About Cars appeared fresh spy shots of the new Jeep Cherokee 2019, as well as some technical information about the model, extracted from sources close to the development. Insiders report that the new SUV will get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is combined with a 48-volt electric motor that creates a so-called “mild” hybrid system. The impact of such installation will be at least 270 horsepower at 399 Nm of torque.

It is noteworthy that in this way the developers did manage to significantly improve the efficiency of the new Jeep Cherokee 2019 – previously powered by a 3.2-liter engine V8, whose power has also made 271 horsepower.

 

 

 

 

It is noted that the aforementioned V6 will be saved in the motor line of Jeep Cherokee 2019. In addition, customers will be offered a version with a 2.4-liter “aspirated”. It is expected that the public premiere of the model will be in January 2018 at the auto show in Detroit.
