In Ukraine the leaders in the number of bookstores are Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Lviv region. This is evidenced by Gostat submitted in response to the request, Chicomo.
In particular, at the beginning of 2017, most of the stores were in the Dnipropetrovsk region (32), Kiev (30), Kharkiv region (23) and Lviv region (22).
At the same time less than just stores of books had Zhytomyr and Luhansk region – only 1, Chernivtsi – 2, Vinnitsa, Kiev and Kherson – 3.
All in early 2017 in Ukraine was 222 bookstore (for comparison, at the beginning of 2016 year there were 218, in early 2015 – 213).
As of January 1, 2018, most bookstores there are in Kiev (24). Also, the leaders remained Lviv region – 17 stores, Kharkiv – 15 stores and Dnipropetrovsk – 14.
In Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Transcarpathian and Lugansk regions as of 1 January this year there were no specialized bookstore.
We will add that in Ukraine for this period in total there were 131 bookstore and 5 book stalls.
It is also noted that data from the State statistics service, may not coincide with the actual number of stores.
As previously reported, the sellers of the capital, “Petrivka” fined almost 40 thousand UAH for the distribution of Russian books.
