Court without the living presence at man is quite a controversial trial, and part condemnation of the man isn’t a real term. Such opinion on air of the project “a Great interview with a great politician” on TV channel “112 Ukraine” was expressed by the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, commenting on a court case of treason, ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
“For me there (in the court – ed.) there is nothing interesting. What they say, about all I know and without a trial. The extent of everything I know. And secondly, the court without the living presence in man is rather arbitrary court. You can make a decision, can be condemned in absentia, but that does not mean that you immediately took from Russia to himself in jail Yanukovych. It is necessary that the court necessarily was based on fair evidence, irrefutable arguments. Everything must be proven with real facts. And when the evidence will be, the witnesses will agree – the court decides. The second track I don’t know,” he said.
Recall that ex-President Yanukovych suspected of committing crimes under part 1 of article 111 (“high treason”), part 5 article 27, part 3 of article 110 (“Complicity in deliberate acts committed with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory and the state border of Ukraine”) and part 5 article 27, part 2 of article 437 (“complicity in the waging of aggressive war”) the criminal code of Ukraine.
The indictment in the case of treason, the Main military office of public Prosecutor has transferred in court in March 2017. Yanukovych himself in court proceedings who is not involved on the territory of Ukraine is missing, hiding in Russia.
The prosecution asked for Yanukovych’s sentence of 15 years imprisonment.
