Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz urged Russia to return to the negotiating table to resolve the situation in the Donbas. He said this following the meeting with the head of the Ukrainian state, which was broadcast “112 Ukraine”.
“I would like to address to Russia with an appeal to return to the negotiating table, because that’s the return you need in the “channel format”. If there is little progress, it is necessary anyway, because this is the only format that we still exist, to someday find a peaceful solution,” said Kurtz.
The Chancellor announced that the Republic of Austria will provide 1 million euros to the organization “Caritas” to support people in the East of Ukraine:
“The Republic of Austria will continue to provide money to support people in the East of Ukraine, and we have agreed to provide 1 million euros for an organization such as Caritas, which will help at least to make a small contribution to the reduction of grief in Eastern Ukraine,” added Kurtz.
Earlier, the Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz said that Austria is ready to consider its participation in the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas.
