President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has awarded the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, the order of Friendship of peoples. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the press service of the Belarusian head of state.
Kadyrov was awarded “for strengthening friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between Belarus and Chechnya”, the statement reads.
According to Radio Liberty, Kadyrov has a good relationship with Viktor Lukashenko, son and assistant to the President for national security. At the end of June Viktor Lukashenko visited Chechnya and met with Kadyrov.
It is noted that the Belarusian order “Friendship of peoples” is the highest state award for foreign citizens.
