The Canadian Milos Raonic won his match for the first round of the tournament of the Masters category of the Monte-Carlo, on Monday, taking the measure of the local player Lucas Catarina.

Raonic, the 14th favorite of the tournament and 22nd player in the world ranking, won in three sets 3-6, 6-2 and 6-3 in the face of Monaco, 365e world player and holder of a pass from the organizers.

The Ontario 27-year-old has experienced a horrible first round by multiplying the number of unforced errors. Raonic then made the call to the physiotherapist during the second to treat an apparent light bulb to the right hand. The meeting lasted for 2h09.

In the next round, Raonic will face the winner of the duel between the Bosnian Damir Dzumhur (31st) and the Italian Marco Cecchinato (100th), coming from the qualifications.
