International competition of photographers, gardeners (IGPOTY) was named the best macro photos 2018 made in the garden. Photo posted on the official website of the award.
First place was taken by Croatian photographer Peter Sabol. It shows the two insects are mayflies on the stem are not yet blooming poppy. The artist noted that he was lucky with the lighting when he took this picture. The judges of the competition said that the inclination of the stem of the poppy is perfectly combined with the bending of the torso of the mayflies. For winning the competition Peter Sabol will receive £ 500 (17,7 thousand UAH).
Second place was taken by English photographer Ian Gilmore, who grasped the structure of the flower salad. The artist emphasized that the beauty of this plant can only be assessed with the help of macro lens. And third place was awarded to the California photographer Ashley Moore, who has made special caterpillar form of the plant Phacelia.

The contest was held in conjunction with the Royal Botanic gardens, UK. The participants were asked to reveal unusual details of plant life and insects.
As previously reported, in July, were named the winners of the photo contest with the birds, and in June – the best pictures of wildlife photo contest The Nature Conservancy.
