NATO has supported Ukraine’s right to freely choose its Euro-Atlantic path without external intervention.This was stated by the official representative of the headquarters of NATO, reports UKRINFORM.
“We are firm in our support for the right of Ukraine to decide their own future and foreign policy freely, without external interference,” – said in the Alliance, commenting on the introduction Petro Poroshenko’s proposals for changes to the Constitution regarding fixing the irreversibility of the European and Euro-Atlantic course of the state.
NATO also said that Ukraine has renewed its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, and then, the decision of the Bucharest summit that the state in the future will buy the membership, remain unchanged.
Recall, 3 September, President Petro Poroshenko introduced to the Verkhovna Rada a bill that enshrines in the Constitution the Euro-Atlantic foreign policy course of Ukraine. The document envisages that the Parliament, the President and the government needs to implement Euro-Atlantic course of Ukraine.
