The DPRK will open the government office of South Korea, whose task will be to organize joint projects between the two Koreas and the promotion of relations. About it reports The Times.
The opening is scheduled for Friday, September 14, 2018. The so-called “liaison office” located on the territory of North Korea, in the city of Kaesong, near the border. This is the first time permanent placement South Korean officials in the Northern part of the Peninsula since the Korean war of 1950-1953.
The staff of the office will include 20 civil servants of the South Korean government and a little less North Korean. They will work on the organization of joint projects that have been agreed by the head of the DPRK Kim Jong-UN and South Korean President mun Jae Another during the April summit.
“The liaison office will become a round-the-clock consulting and communication channel for promotion of inter-Korean relations, easing military tension and establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula”, – said the Ministry of unification of South Korea.
We will remind, on April 27, the leaders of the two Koreas held a historic meeting in the border village of Panmunjom (South Korea). During the talks North Korean leader Kim Jong UN has declared the intention to close the nuclear test site in Pungere. After the talks the two leaders announced the signing at the end of 2018, a peace Treaty that will put an end to the war between the two countries. In particular, the heads of state signed the Declaration of Panmunjom for peace, prosperity and unification on the Korean Peninsula.
Later in the DPRK has cancelled a new meeting with the South Korean authorities. The reason was the dissatisfaction of the North Korean side military exercises that hold the United States and the Republic of Korea. Also later Kim Jong-UN convened military Commission of the party for the first time in two years.
