Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared readiness to hold a personal meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN. On it informs Agency “KCNA”, transfers “TASS”.
According to North Korean Agency, consent to hold the meeting referred to in the telegram Putin sent Kim Jong Ynu, congratulating the anniversary of Korea’s liberation on August 15.
“On the occasion of the national holiday of the DPRK, the day of liberation, I send you sincere greetings. Russia highly appreciates that in your country reverently remember the soldiers of the red army who fought shoulder to shoulder with the Korean patriots in the name of freedom and independence of Korea”, – quotes “KCNA” telegram.
Further, according to the given Agency, the text suggests that Putin “is ready to meet soon” to “discuss urgent issues of bilateral relations and important regional issues.”
He also noted “friendly and constructive” relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK and expressed confidence that the country can “develop mutually beneficial cooperation”, including in the framework of the tripartite program with the participation of Russia, North Korea and South Korea.
Previously, their willingness to meet with Kim Jong-UN, said the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.
We also remind that on 12 June, Singapore hosted the first ever meeting between the current US President with the leader of North Korea. The main theme of the summit was nuclear disarmament of the DPRK and the reduction of tension in relations between States.
