On Poklonnaya hill in Moscow will be installed 40 of ice sculptures, which will be dedicated to countries participating in the 2018 world Cup. Residents and guests of the city will be able to see the icy Carlson, Baron Munchausen, and Gulliver and Sherlock Holmes, as well as other small copy of the world famous monuments.
All the sculptures will be combined into eight conceptual concepts mapped according to the number of groups 32 teams, according to the results of the final draw. This procedure took place December 1. Each of them will include the symbols of the four countries, whose teams will play each other.
They will be installed as part of the Christmas festival “Ice-Moscow”. Will host the exhibition from 29 December to 8 January, and the support she will provide to the Department of culture of Moscow.
“In total, the creation of these sculptures will leave about two thousand tons of natural ice. The natural basis is taken from the lake, as well as of the Arkhangelsk and Ekaterinburg lakes. Sculpture of each of them will include a certain symbolism. Visitors will be able not only to see the ice copies of some recognized architectural masterpieces, but also the image of world football stars, cartoon characters and other national symbols of the countries-participants“, – said one of the organizers of the project Alexander Kovtunets.
