The attacker of Nigeria-Orji Okwonkwo will play the next season with the Montreal Impact, which was obtained through a loan from FC Bologna, on Tuesday.
Having been discovered in a triumph of Nigeria at the world Cup of under 17 years of age in 2015, the new player of the Blue-White-Black has evolved in Italy over the past three years. The 21-year-old has scored three goals in 27 games in Serie A with Bologna, totalling 951 minutes of play from 2016 to 2019. He joined the Italian club in 2016 after going through the academy’s club of nigeria FC Abuja.
“I am pleased to welcome another attacker among the workforce, said the head coach of the Impact, Rémi Garde, in a press release. Orji Okwonkwo is a young player spotted by the Bologna three years ago and who comes to support our offensive force. It is an attacker fast and powerful, has a line of interesting progression.”
Okwonkwo has spent the second half of the season 2017-2018 on loan with Brescia in Serie B, scoring a goal in 13 games and 455 minutes.
