“Our land” invites the government and the Antimonopoly Committee to check the validity of rise in prices for journey in public transport. This was stated by co-Chairman of the party Oleksandr Mazurchak.
According to him, following the capital, the fare in public transport is growing across the country.
“The wave of price hike fares in public transport covers the whole country. After Kiev in the Dnieper river, the fare in ground transport increased from 1.5, and in the metro with 2 to 4 hryvnia. Party “Our land” warned the government that raising the cost of travel in Kiev will start a chain reaction throughout the city. The government and the Antimonopoly Committee must immediately check the validity of rise in prices for journey in public transport”, – said Alexander Mazurchak.
The co-Chairman of “Our land,” officials cite a rise in electricity tariffs as the reason for the fare increase.
“We have repeatedly drawn the authorities’ attention to the fact that uncontrolled growth in electricity tariffs will lead to higher prices in industries where it is used. But you need to update the outdated and worn out rolling stock and to ensure the safety of passengers, and after that it will be possible to revise the price of admission. The power only increases the cost of tickets for public transport,” – said Alexander Mazurchak.
He called on the government to perform the work of public transport and make it more accessible.
“We need to ensure transparent control over the work of urban public transport, its expenditure and income. One of the first steps in this direction should be the introduction of the electronic ticket” – summed up Oleksandr Mazurchak.
As is known, from 5 August 2018 the fares of passengers and Luggage transportation in urban electric transport and subway of the Dnieper is 4 UAH. July 14, the cost of travel in municipal public transport in Kiev is 8 UAH.
