All in all, the opening of the Embassy was invited 86 countries with diplomatic missions in Israel. It took the invitation, only 33 States.
The essence of the conflict
East Jerusalem is a very disputed territory between Israel and Palestine. In international law, the territory remains uncertain, so for the Palestinian authorities, the U.S. decision means a de facto recognition of all areas of Jerusalem the capital of Israel.
May 14, 2018 in the Gaza strip during a protest timed to the opening in Jerusalem of the American depodesta, took place clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli military. According to the Palestinian Ministry of health, as a result of the riots killed 58 people, 2700 – injured. The representative of local health services, Ashraf al-Kidra said about the 59th victim of the collision. According to him, it became 8-month-old girl who died after inhaling gas.
The transfer of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem glowed relations in the middle East
During the opening of the American Embassy in Jerusalem, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu said that this step will bring the peace in the region between Israelis and Palestinians. But everything happened exactly the opposite – instead of the world situation more and more heated and threatened to become a new Palestinian intifada (“uprising” for independence – ed.) against Israel. The Palestinians believe that East Jerusalem should be the capital of a Palestinian state.
