The speaker of the Parliament Andrei Parubiy said that in the Verkhovna Rada in the fall will extend the law on the special status of Donbass – but emphasized that the substantive discussion on this occasion was not, therefore, about the final decision to speak early.
He said this during a press briefing after the conciliatory Council meeting, the broadcast led the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
“I remember what was an incredible discussion in the previous year. I will remind, then noted that the extension of the act would not have any change, but will allow the international community to continue sanctions. Then a lot of people say that it is not true that it is a betrayal that is anti-Ukrainian scenario. But a year later, these projections we can now fully confirm that in fact, extension, then, the formal extension, helped to keep the international sanctions against Russia. Obviously, this logic will be discussed this fall when the question will be on the agenda,” – said paruby.
He stressed that substantive discussions with the heads of the factions on this occasion was not.
“I’m sure it will be very hard and difficult discussion, but now to talk about its outcome would be before, because substantive discussions about the law with the heads of the factions had not yet happened,” – said the speaker of Parliament.
We will remind, in the autumn of 2017, the Verkhovna Rada extended year special order of local government in ORDO but only under the condition of withdrawal of Russian troops and equipment from separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
In the summer the first Deputy speaker of Parliament Irina Gerashchenko called for the extension of the law on the special status of Donbass. Someone has subjected this position to criticism and urged to bring her to justice for it. For its part, Irina Gerashchenko said that appealed to Parubiy with a call to vote on the question of removal of her parliamentary immunity.
