Pedestrian seriously injured in a collision in Levis

Quebec A 60-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by an Econoline-type vehicle on Tuesday morning in Levis.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 am on boulevard Guillaume Couture, in the former Saint-David sector.
The pedestrian, who was on the north side of the pavement, would suddenly have entered the track at the moment when the Econoline was passing in a westerly direction.
“The driver of the vehicle did not have time to do a maneuver to avoid the collision,” says a police spokesman in Levis Christian Cantin.
Gravely wounded, the pedestrian was transported to the Hôtel-Dieu de Lévis, where he rests in a stable state. However, his life would be safe, according to information gathered by the police of Lévis.
The police did not rule out the voluntary gesture on the part of the 60-year-old.
