Petitioner: the Ministry of health is trying to hide the purchase of expired medicines

Богомолец: Минздрав пытается скрыть закупку просроченных медикаментов

The leadership of the Ministry of health is trying to hide the purchase of expired medicines. The people’s Deputy of Ukraine and Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on health Olga Bogomolets announced in the program “Parallel” on the TV channel “Really here”.

“The Ministry of health and personally Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman responsible for the fact that he signed the permission to supply drugs 18 months after full prepayment. Therefore, the Ministry of health and the Cabinet only last year brought out of the country 6 billion hryvnia,” – said the MP.

According to her, the Ministry of health regularly purchases drugs, the validity of which is exhausted, calling such a move “budget savings”.

“For example, today in OKHMATDYT of the 70 known positions brought only seven. Warehouses are piles of millions of hryvnia is a medicine that has exhausted its shelf life. They are now trying furtively to destroy, then to not have asked what you bought? Because the Ministry yells: we saved, we bought cheaper, but actually it’s not usable,” said the MP.

The politician said that those brave doctors, who said the supply of expired medicines, are being fired.

“Those doctors who allowed themselves to say that no medication that what you deliver does not meet quality standards, now being fired. For example, for this reason began the reorganization of the Center for bone marrow transplantation. In order to drive out those who disagree with the policy of the Ministry of health. As a result, instead of developing transplantation in Ukraine, people were sent abroad, where these operations are more expensive three times”, – outraged the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on health.

The MP believes that the Ministry of health operates so because of the support of international lenders.

“Today the country’s leadership with eyes closed, cover each other. And all they know about what’s going on. The power of silence, because international lenders are satisfied: the number of hospitals is reduced, doctors too. And the fact that the population became less, they do not say. We need to save the medicine, while it is still possible”, – summed up Olga Bogomolets.
