Polish Orthodox Church is called not to hurry with the autocephaly of the UOC, because of this, the Ukrainian Church requires the consent of all the local churches. This is stated in the letter from the Secretary of the Chancellery of the Polish Orthodox Church by Jerzy Doroshkevich, RBC.
According to information of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church (PAKT) insists that the Kyiv Patriarchate is unable to obtain autocephaly without consultation with local churches.
Doroshkevich emphasizes that autocephaly can be granted by the Mother Church (Patriarchate of Constantinople) only after consultation with all the local churches and the hasty actions allegedly can deepen the split in Ukraine.
“Currently, in Ukraine there is a situation, which should take care of all the local Orthodox churches,” — said in the letter.
In addition, he believes that “in Ukraine there are several schismatic churches of the Orthodox Church that needs to repent and return to the canons of the Orthodox Church.”
In his opinion, only then will the discussion of the question of granting autocephaly.
