Порошенко о Маккейне: Он обиделся, когда я предложил ему не ехать в Широкино из-за обстрелов боевиков

Us Senator John McCain offended by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s offer to postpone the visit in Shirokino due to the artillery shelling of the militants in December 2016. The head of state said in Avdeevka 26 Aug, video issued a press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsigalko on the page in Facebook.

Poroshenko recalled the visit in a statement on 31 December 2016. According to him, John McCain then moved his trip to Georgia and said, “My place is here”.

“For the last 10 km when we drove up to Shirokino, my security service of the President said that at the place where we should arrive at the location of the Marines, the enemy opened artillery fire. I told him: “Look, you’re a Senator, you don’t have to be there. I, as President, should be with their soldiers.” This is the first time John offended me. Because I was thinking about to offer it to him. And we have some fantastic photo, where he, along with our soldiers, says: “Russia will pay a huge price for this absolutely irresponsible war.” He spent his entire life dedicated to protect Ukraine and Ukrainians,” – said Petro Poroshenko.
