The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko by his decree has awarded the Kharkiv police patrol by Alexander Rostov and his partner Dmitry Kiriyenko, who was killed in a shooting at night on Monday near the city Council, the order “For courage”. This is stated in the presidential decree No. 235 dated 22 August.

Patrol was awarded for personal courage in the fight against crime, the dedicated performance of duty.

29-year-old Kiriyenko died August 20 in a shootout near the building of the Kharkiv city Council.

Also during the shooting, was seriously wounded a security guard stationed at the entrance to the city Council, and mortally wounded one of the police officers attacking a man.
