Порошенко поручил СНБО и МИД разработать предложения по обеспечению интересов Украины в акватории Азовского моря

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the national security Council and defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of foreign Affairs to develop proposals for the protection of the interests of Ukraine in the Azov sea. This was stated by the President during a meeting with heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine. The broadcast led the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.

“Finally today we have come sufficiently trained and legally protected to the next step: termination of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, which is the fault of Moscow has already become an anachronism. In the near future I expect the foreign Ministry the documents required to initiate this process. As I expect proposals to ensure our interests in the sea of Azov. I’m not going to put up with it and firmly convinced that the situation now is absolutely unacceptable. Instructed to prepare the meeting of the Council on this matter and ask the foreign Ministry to make as soon as possible their proposals. Because of the wrongful and deceitful actions of Moscow in the region must not and will not go unpunished, especially without appropriate international response,” – said the President of Ukraine.

Note, the recent activity of Russia in the Azov sea has increased significantly. The Russians do not allow trading ships to the Ukrainian ports and out of them easily pass through the Kerch Strait.

In addition, on 15 July in the sea of Azov, Russia detained for inspection 148 vessels. In this regard, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the Minister of defense, the chief of the General staff and high command of the Navy of Ukraine to take measures to stop Russian provocations against blocking entry of ships in Ukrainian ports on the Azov sea.

Later, the chief of the General staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko said that the Ukrainian Navy will increase its presence in the sea of Azov.

The Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine has developed a package of measures in response to Russia’s actions to block shipping in the Azov and Black seas. It was reported that the package of measures includes limiting passenger traffic with Russia.

Ukraine has also advocated the imposition of sanctions against the black sea ports of Russia due to the blockade of the sea of Azov.

Earlier, the foreign Ministry said that on denunciation of the agreement with Russia on the Azov sea could not be considered because it will enable Russia to declare the territorial dispute.
