Poroshenko invited the EU to take patronage over the Donbas
The Ukrainian leader believes that this will help solve the issue of restoration of territories.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko made an unusual idea. The head of state invited the EU to take over the patronage of the cities of Donbass and helped in their recovery. He stated this during his meeting with President of the OSCE parliamentary Assembly Giorgi Tsereteli.
– Discussed ways of assisting the internally displaced persons and the revival of the Ukrainian Donbass. In this regard, the President proposed the initiative to each EU country has prepared a program of mentorship for a separate Ukrainian cities of Donbass, contributing to their revival and rehabilitation of infrastructure, – said the press service.
In addition, Poroshenko once again called for further sanctions against Russia before the liberation of territories and the Ukrainians who are in Russian prisons.
Not so long ago the Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulius Squirrels during a two-day visit to Ukraine, visited Donbass. Looking at the partially restored infrastructure Avdiivka, head of the Lithuanian government called on the EU to invest in the Ukrainian regions affected by the conflict.
