Poroshenko said that 2019 will mark the year of Ukrainian culture in Austria

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that 2019 will be declared the year of Ukrainian culture in Austria. The head of Ukrainian state said after talks with Chancellor of the country Sebastian Kurz, transfers “112 Ukraine”.

“We agreed that 2019 will be the year we proclaim a year of Ukrainian culture in Austria. And cultural diplomacy is a very robust and effective tool for the development of relations between our peoples and countries. Culture is the key to the hearts and the Ukraine, and Austria. It will make our people much closer,” said the President of Ukraine.

Poroshenko also expressed hope that Ukraine and Austria will continue the cooperation at all levels, therefore, invited the Austrian President to visit the Ukrainian state.

“I am confident that we will continue this effective cooperation at all levels. At the presidential level are we waiting for Mr. President’s visit. I asked master Sebastian to pass on my invitation. We also invited the Austrian delegation to the anniversary of the Holodomor in November,” said Garant.

Also after a meeting with diplomats of the country, the President sent a proposal for the possible patronage of Austria over one of the settlements.

“We have sent proposals on the possible patronage of Austria, as I said at the meeting with diplomats in the town, over one of the settlements. Today we carefully study these positions,” – said Poroshenko.

Earlier, Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Austria Alexander szczerba stated that the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the wedding of Minister for foreign Affairs of Austria Karin Kneissl not good for the image of Austria in Ukraine.

We will remind, earlier Putin danced at the wedding with Karin Kneissl. However, the Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz said that his country’s policy towards Russia will not change.
