President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Ukraine is a unitary state, and it will not accept external pressure that will attempt to change the structure of the country. About this Poroshenko said during the YES forum, which was broadcast channel “112 Ukraine”.
“All my life I remember February 9-12, 2015, when we have 19 hours of continued negotiations and did not break. French President Hollande is very accurately described the atmosphere that night in Minsk. We have created a document that spelled out the obligations of the parties – Russia must withdraw its troops from the occupied territories, Russia should take all the tanks, artillery, heavy weapons, illegal military formations. Russia should create dangerous conditions for launching the political process. Ukraine is a unitary state and will never accept the external pressure that will attempt to change the structure of our country. Neither Russia nor Moscow, nor Brussels, nor Washington will decide what to be Ukraine. It is the sovereign right of the Ukrainian citizens”, – said Poroshenko.
Poroshenko said that after the implementation of the Minsk agreements Ukraine is obliged to hold fair free elections.
“We are ready to run the local elections immediately after all conditions are met and safety requirements. We are four years waiting for this from the Russian side, even the slightest step. Instead, we hear talk about fake illegal elections in the occupied territories”, – he said.
As reported, Poroshenko has held a meeting with the special representative of the United States Kurt Volker. During the meeting they discussed the situation in the Donbas.
