The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the meeting with the Minister of environment, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and heritage of the state of Israel Zeev Elkin discussed the issues of development of trade-economic cooperation between the two countries, and urged to resolve the existing difficulties with access to Israeli territory Ukrainian citizens. “The President of Ukraine noted concern about the existing facts of non-admission of Ukrainian citizens to the territory of Israel, despite the existence of visa-free travel for citizens of both countries. He urged the Israeli side to take all possible measures to improve the situation in this sphere”, – stated in the message.
Poroshenko also noted the intensification of political dialogue with Israel and expressed hope for the future.
“The interlocutors discussed the intensive trade-economic cooperation between the two countries and noted good prospects for further development. In this regard, agreed on the need for early signing of the free trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel,” – noted in press service.
The President also discussed with the Minister, who is the co-chair of the Israeli part of the Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on trade and economic cooperation, the results of its recent meeting which took place in June.
