The Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement with Poland on cooperation in the defense sector, and with Romania in the field of military transport. Online broadcast of the plenary session of the Parliament has led official channel “Rada”.
Bill No. 0145 provides for the ratification of the agreement with Poland on cooperation in the defense sphere. The document was supported by 230 MPs.
The governments of Ukraine and Poland signed an agreement on 2 December 2016 in the city of Warsaw. In Ukraine responsible for the implementation of the agreement will be the Ministry of defense and Ministry of economic development, and in Poland – the Minister of national defence and the Minister responsible for economic relations.
The document identified areas of cooperation: in particular, military communications, infrastructure, military training and education, protection against weapons of mass destruction and so on.
The agreement is aimed at establishing common principles and procedures for cooperation between the parties in the sphere of defense. This includes the procedure for conducting of joint activities, exchange of information, delegations, dispute resolution. It also describes the issues of jurisdiction and responsibility, changes and additions to the agreement.
The document will come into force one month after the receipt States the final diplomatic notes, which the parties reported the completion of necessary domestic notes.
Bill number 0153 envisages ratification of the agreement with Romania on cooperation in the field of military transport. Voted 247 deputies.
The agreement determines the procedure and organization of military transportation on the territories of Ukraine and Romania. We are talking about road, rail, air transport and water (inland waters and sea lines of communication).
The competent authorities of both States (like Ukraine and Romania) identified the Ministry of defense and Ministry of interior.
The document stipulates how and how far in advance of the country should inform the partner about the need for transportation.
Note that the agreement was signed on 21 April 2016 in the city of Bucharest. It will enter into force when the countries will get the final message about completing the necessary domestic procedures.
