NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that the issue of Ukraine’s cooperation with NATO can be built up only after the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, and if the new parliament approves bill to abolish the non-aligned status.
According to Rasmussen, timing for this is difficult to determine for accession Ukraine will need to achieve a number of criteria. To implement these requirements may take as much time.
On relations with Russia, Secretary General of the North Atlantic alliance said NATO is not going to break the Founding Act on Cooperation with the Russian Federation since 1997 and will continue to cooperate with Moscow.
Recall that last week the government introduced in Parliament a bill to abolish the non-aligned status of Ukraine.
