The american manufacturer Ford announced the recall of nearly 1.5 million vehicles in North America due to a transmission problem.

The vast majority of the units involved are of the F-150 models in the years 2011 to 2013 equipped with an automatic transmission with six reports.

On these transmissions, a manufacturing defect so that the vehicle can suddenly downshift to the first report. At least five accidents have been recorded in connection with this problem.

Approximately 221 000 canadian units are affected by this recall. The models affected were built between April 2010 and October 2013 at the factory in Dearborn, and between may 2010 and November 2013, at the factory of Kansas City.

On these four models, the digital display that replaces the dials behind the steering wheel may turn suddenly, which could prevent drivers to access vital information such as speed, fuel level, etc
