Four ex-soldiers of company “Tornado” and two employees Lukyanovka jail reported about suspicion in the case of rebellion. This was reported in the press service of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
“The results of the implementation of pre-trial investigation 20.08.2018 the Prosecutor of the Kiev garrison Central region of Ukraine reported about suspicion to the former commander of “Tornado”, which is the organizer of the crimes, and 3 ex-soldiers of the said company – organized group members in committing crimes under part 1 of article 294, h 2, article 342, part 4 of article 345, art 348, part 1 of article 263 UK of Ukraine. In addition, it is reported about suspicion 2 the employees of the state institution “Kyiv detention facility” accomplices of organized groups committing crimes under part 1 article 294, part 2 of article 342, part 4 of article 345 of the criminal code of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
The Prosecutor added that the investigation revealed that an organized group from among the prisoners of former employees of the company “Tornado” with the complicity of prison officers had committed serious and heinous crimes: mass riots, accompanied by arson, seizure of buildings, resistance to authorities with weapons; threats; violence against law enforcement officers in connection with the performance of these official duties, and possession of explosive devices.
“The criminal actions of individual members of an organized group and it’s organizer are additionally qualified as actions, aimed at the Commission of attempted murder of law enforcement officers in connection with the performance of these official duties”, – noted in GPU.
The ex-fighters of “Tornado” have been detained on the basis of issued by the court on conviction in other criminal proceedings. The suspects from prison staff remanded in custody.
Recall, August 9, during the escorting fighters “Tornado” under Lukyanovsky jail, clashes occurred between citizens and police officers.
In the end, three soldiers of the battalion “Tornado”, which was held in the Lukyanivka prison in Kyiv, was transferred, and others put in solitary confinement. As told in the Ministry of justice, the result of the application of the soldiers improvised explosive packets suffered one of the police officers. In addition, it was reported that “tornadovtsa” poured gasoline on one of the police officers and threatened to set fire to it.
The Minister of justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko has announced tough administrative decisions in respect of employees of Lukyanovka jail, who helped the former”tornadovtsam”.
After the rebellion had replaced the leadership of Lukyanovka jail. New head of Kyiv detention facility was Ruslan Chamomile, head of Boryspil penal colony № 119.
