Scientists have established the relationship between IQ and health of men and women

Scientists in the UK in a large-scale study established the relationship between level of intelligence and health of men and women.

A group of scientists from the University of Cambridge for research invited 9.6 thousand people in the UK in the age range from 18 to 97 years. All participants passed the examination and answered questions about the frequency of depression and emotional state, took the test on IQ and on memory and speed of thinking. Afterwards, the experts made the participants MRI of the head, and part of the volunteers revealed inflammation in the brain responsible for aggravation of depression.

After analyzing all the data, the researchers found that the greater the area of inflammation, the more his psychological experience. However, the higher their IQ, the less pronounced signs of depression or psychological disorders. But in women, no relationship between level of intelligence and development of depression has not been established.

In the future, the researchers plan to determine the influence of genetic factors on the development of depression in men.
